Great company for open source contributors

Pros

I love doing open source, and IBM encourages developers to do that. I even get recognition from my peers and cash prices whenever my contributions are aligned with the IBM strategy.

Cons

Most of the projects where IBM pays money to contributors are around Cloud and Machine Learning and I usually contribute to projects related to Web development so I don't always get recognition for my work.

There is a good culture at IBM, my co-workers are very collaborative. There are very talented people here who work very hard to make the company successful. Flexibility is superb, many people working from home. The pay is good and the 401k is one of the best I have seen.

Cons

Sometimes there is a lot of work to do, many things going on. But that is also a good opportunity for learning.
