Pros

Friendly colleagues if you are lucky. Some are really brilliant but working really on very less compensation packages.

Cons

No transparency at all between the senior management. They have so bad management that its really difficult to survive. The leads are given overall powers and project manager is only concerned with the mails he receives apart from that he looks into nothing and completely depends on Leads who really are freshers in the management fields and some even freshers for the process for which they call themselves as leads. Poor management makes the whole environment so negative that whole productivity goes down. Senior Management doesn't look into competency of the employees they look how much they accept each and every politics played by them. Will never recommend anyone to work for IBM for any public funded projects.

Pros

Lots of variety available. Access to vast resources, especially software.

Cons

Acquisitions, especially in remote locations, do not integrate with IBM culture. IBM is highly balkanized by its acquisition strategy. Very important to understand the culture of the acquired company. More so than IBM's. Acquisitions are very uneven in terms of talent, especially in senior management, who often do not know how to be effective in a large corporation. Cultural friction between acquisitions and corporate. Local senior management was outright hostile to corporate executive and senior management.

Pros

Good work life balance with flexible work hours and locations. Immense opportunities and resources to learn and advance skill sets.

Cons

There is a lot of office politics. Remuneration is sometimes not reflective of experience or ability but rather bargaining abilities.
