Pros

Good benefits. Great co workers except the upper level managers/supervisors. Delicious food in the staff cafeteria.

Cons

Upper level managers are disengaged. They just walk around the store and look for things to tell you what to do and not to do. You and your co worker can't stay by the computer even if you are talking about work. You can't sit on the standing chair (workstation for cabinet planning) so why put it there? You must do things all the time and be on your toes. I worked for Ikea Europe for many years and I did not experience this. If you have worked in Ikea Europe wanting to work here then pls go somewhere else. You will be utterly disappointed in how different the culture of this Ikea store. I wanted to quit in two weeks but stayed for 3 mos (to give benefit of the doubt).

Pros

Free ‘healthy meal lunch. Free uniform Free parking Do your job, go home n forget about it. Local Reasonable pay for work involved.

Cons

Non existent team work in my area. Stuck on checkout after 30 mins training and that’s it. 6 hr shifts stood in enclosed Perspex checkout with 20 min break. Virtually no interaction with other colleagues. Was led to believe at interview that I would be carrying out a variety of tasks and would have buddy for training. Team leaders and management have no time to help with basic HR issues. So boring

Pros

The benefits are nice, with paid sick leave and holiday hours. They took the covid situation seriously and I was paid for my mandatory quarantine. Coworkers are very friendly.

Cons

The way things are now, employees are very frustrated. We are grossly understaffed, and the rest of us are needing to try and balance the weight of this responsibility, and it wears on us. There are 7 leads over customer service, and you need to talk to at *least* 4 to get anything important accomplished. Upholding policy is very difficult as management does not defend employees or its own policy and instead folds to the demands of customers.
