- Grumpy managers that obviously don't want to work for IKEA so take it out on their staff
- They have no respect for staff
- Ridiculous hours (no personal life) for low pay, sometimes without breaks (very common to start at 10am and finish at 11pm and have a manager forget to cover you for a break)
- "Forgot" to enrol certain staff for pensions (yes, we got solicitors involved and our pensions were paid to us but it is the amount of time it took to resolve)
- Terrible work politics
- Absolutely no trust for one another
- Completely disorganised
- In need of a complete rehiring/ restructure
- Should not be "one rule for one person, another rule for someone else", in other words, if a team leader steals money from IKEA - they shouldn't get away with it based on who they know. They should be fired just like a co-worker would be (or has been).
- They promise so much during interviews/ induction which they never live up to
- No prospects/ Chance of progression unless you are related to a manager, brown-nose or sleep with someone
- The conditions of the kitchen where customers (and unaware co-workers) eat are unbelievable. Not sure how (or how long ago) the IKEA restaurant passed safety tests
- I have been abused by customers e.g. had a customer grab my bottom and when I asked a security staff to escort the customer out of the store, a manager apologised to the customer and served them. In other words, no loyalty whatsoever.
- I could go on but essentially I am saying: I do not recommend you apply.
