      Great place to grow and learn but office politics is a great constraint

      Pros

      Good pay. Opportunities for professional growth. Great diversity program.

      Cons

      Cliques control the game - in the last 3 or 4 retrenchment program, none of the caucasians or indians were affected even if some of the Asians had better performance appraisal/ranking. Non-performing Executive Directors were untouchables. The Juniors and middle management took the brunt.

      Pros

      It was a great company that cared equally about its employees and customers. There was very little hierarchical levels as the company was very straight lined. A manager could provide feedback to the executive management with ease and the company blog allowed employees to speak freely about the company and how to improve it.

      Cons

      Now that it has been acquired by JP Morgan Chase, we can already see the cultural differences affecting our work environment. So far, it appears Chase does not treat its employees with the same fairness and respect as WaMu did.

      Pros

      Obviously, everyone who works here is in it for the money. That's clearly evident in day-to-day life at the firm, and if you think that there's some kind of corporate culture...wow, you might be stupid.

      Cons

      Your superiors will be morons, and you will be forced to work long hours. I've had the rug pulled out from under me time and time again, and eventually it's not even a surprise. Working at JP Morgan is essentially being chained to your desk, albeit with golden handcuffs.
