Pros

Compensation, benefits, work to life balance. Compared to other pharmaceutical companies aroung, J&J seems like a safer place to work. The lay-off percentage is more sparing than others, the diversification of the business looks smarter than the approach than other companies take. In most cases, you are the master of your schedule and you can balance your work and life projects accordingly. Compensation package is more generous than for smaller companies around, and benefits are good but deductibles grews a lot in the last few years.

Cons

Weak leadership, long processing time for everything new, lack of understanding of the value of science, more input on sales and marketing.

Pros

It has a great history and great terms of employment, very helpful with your domestic situations and was "THE" place to work for years.Wish they could turn back the years to the best employer in the world.

Cons

they have turned the "Credo" upside down.Loyalty to the employee was number 2 in the Credo but now they only look at the shareholder and profit, The customer comes first" this was the General Johnson philosophy and has been overlooked to cost reductions etc.It is sad that Weldon does not know what is going on below him, Bob always knew what was happening in his family of companies

Pros

It is an environment of smart people, with a relatively relaxed approach to daily grind, freedom to work remotely if needed. Good corporate citizen, offers many volunteering opportunities and truly believes its Credo (mission statement). Good opportunities to learn the specifics of technology and regulatory implications. Opportunity to get used to real "corporate jungle" environment. Is most useful for somebody at the beginning of the career, as a stepping stone since from here you can go anywhere in the medical industry. Decent pay and benefits and the fact that the products help people makes a big difference in the level of motivation.

Cons

Weak strategic thinking, top heavy, disconnect between top management and middle management.
