Pros

Supportive people at every level Everyone’s approachable—from associates to partners. People take time to ask how you're doing and actually listen. There’s a genuine culture of being helpful and respectful. Flat and open environment The open-plan office means you might sit next to a partner or director and not even realise. There’s no ego. Senior staff are easy to talk to and treat you like a peer. Strong focus on learning and development You get access to LinkedIn Learning and KPMG’s own internal training platform. It's easy to pick up new skills or improve existing ones during quieter periods. Dedicated support from managers Managers check in regularly—not just about work, but how you’re managing in general. They help with professional growth and step in when you need extra support.

Cons

Steep learning curve early on There’s an unspoken expectation that you understand how audits work from the start. On your first or second engagement, you might feel behind if you’re new to audit or the industry. Long hours during busy periods Towards the end of engagements, the workload ramps up. It's not unusual to go well beyond a 9–5, with some weeks pushing past 60 hours. You do get compensated for anything over 50 hours, but it can be a grind.
