Pros

Honestly, working at Kaiser has its good and bad. The pay and benefits are really good compared to a lot of other hospitals, and the union protection helps a lot. The system is organized, and if you like structure and clear rules, it can feel supportive. There are also a lot of opportunities to move into different roles like case management or outpatient without leaving the company. As long as your team on the floor is good you’ll be good.

Cons

Kaiser hospital does not make kaiser money. It actually makes them lose money overall so if you think they care about their hospitals… they don’t. All kaiser cares about it money. There is no such thing as any insurance or hospital putting you first. Once you remember that it’s an easier pill to swallow when they don’t care to really treat their long term chronically ill patients.
