Pros

Some sites still have good talented individuals left; but they are dwindling

Cons

Supervisors in general that are put in the position are incompetent. There are some good ones, but most are out of touch completely from a technical standpoint as well as what their team is all about and the work they do. Practice Rank and Yank - terrible for moral and all employees know that this is going on ; simply because some supervisors do not do a good job of keeping confidential things very quiet Send political based emails and literature through mail to your home. Most find this completely disrespectful and also creates a hostile environment. Employees would be fired if they did this, so why does management or CEO think its OK? MBM guiding principles we need to follow: Others refer to the 10 commandments. Management does not walk the talk. Its a one way street Very behind in technology. This company was formed from employees of other Koch based companies. We went from high technology to the stone age. We offer up solutions and we are told to stop talking for the most part Once the job market picks up for all areas of the country the good people will ge gone and this company will be in severe jeopardy We often wonder if Charles really knows what is going on here....

Pros

KBS seems to be a stable company that is backed by the financial power of the Koch family. Most of the employees are friendly and respectful to other co-workers and non-management level employees want the same thing for the company and it's customers.

Cons

KBS puts entirely too much emphasis on corporate culture and compliance training while other far more important decisions seem to fall to the wayside. Hardware, operating systems and software are hopelessly out of date with no clear road map of when and how they will be upgraded or replaced. Web based compliance training takes up huge portions of everyone's time and offers very little value in return. All training must also be repeated yearly with no exceptions. Pay raises not considered unless you are promoted and it isn't clear what an employee must do for merit increases. Bargain hard when you go in because you will not be getting a raise during your tenure.

Pros

My supervisors were fair and kind, and the company was small enough that I learned a lot and was given the opportunity to learn whatever I wanted that was relevant in the context of my duties.

Cons

The branch I worked at was considered the ugly stepchild and anyone working there was treated with contempt by upper management from the other branch. I used to dread having to call people above me because I knew that no matter how relevant my question to the job at hand I would be yelled at or reprimnaded first and foremost, and then later told the answer to my question, if they even felt like answering.
