Pros

Can stay home and work as long as you wants. If it is a full time interpreter position, you can taste how a hectic job is. Can improve interpreter skills quickly and only is a first step into the door for Interpreter to move to others companies.

Cons

Very isolated and stressful job with an average reimbursement.

Pros

This is a job in which you can actually make a difference in people's lives. It really feels good to help people in need as it often is the case in some calls. As a contractor, you're free to pick your work hours (call volume is usually higher during regular business hours) and there's good call volume.

Cons

Per minute rates are very low (US$ 0.40/minute - conditions may vary depending on your location, but overall, they're far from great). Though it's a good job for interpreters that need some experience, professional interpreters can get much better compensation doing other types of interpreting jobs (I certainly won't stay here too long). Start up with this, but keep looking for better opportunities.
