At MSCI, we participate in various benchmarking studies from relevant industries and firms that reassure us that we are rewarding people in an appropriate and realistic way. Our compensation is designed to be internally appropriate considering individual performance and contribution. As a company that has called upon capital-markets participants to help drive the transition to net-zero, we strive to reduce our own firm’s carbon footprint. This includes the review of business travel across all of our offices on a case-by-case basis, encouraging virtual meetings instead where it makes sense.

Our managers are evaluated annually based on their engagement scores and their ability to retain talented employees, as well as having access to development programs to help improve their people management skills. Additionally, our employees have the opportunity to give anonymous feedback to managers though our engagement survey and to reach out directly to their local HR representatives.
