Pros

Marriott was a company founded on an understanding of taking care of it's people so they would take care the customers. For many decades that was the case and may still be the case in some areas, but the tides have been changing since J.W. Marriott Jr. stepped down as CEO.

Cons

A lot of senior leadership have risen to their positions based on tenure at the company, not necessarily based on expertise in their fields. This lack of expertise of people in powerful positions can and has lead to poor judgement and decisions on strategic directions, which in turn can and will have business ramifications far into the future.

Pros

It was a job only.

Cons

Banquet servers receive no gratuities whatsoever even though the hotel adds a 18% service charge to all of their clients. Servers set-up and breakdown all tables, etc. Treated like slaves in which management has absolutely no respect for whatsoever.
