Pros

Teamwork and great benefits. Good PTO package and great co-workers, make you fill as one big family....

Cons

Management is like us and them, micro manager's that are very lazy and not team players, sometimes very young....You can at times work very long hours with out even a break or lunch....Once you are with Marriott for years, you will max out in your hourly rate and not get an annual raise. Most annual raises are 30 cents, and you wont even get that, your wage is frozen at that rate until the market shows it has went up. All pay is market driven and averaged. Poor for your dedicated employees.

Pros

I'd been with one of Marriott Hotel in China for more than 5yrs. It's a great company, I was taken care of, treated fairly. Marriott provided a lot training to his staff. I was so proud to be with Marriott.

Cons

In recent years, Marriott Management is not strong enough to stand for his staff against the hotel owner, like salary increase percentage, benifits, training fund... You know the owner in China is quite tough in cost control. Some of Marriott hotels under the name of Marriott, or JW Marriott are not luxury enough as before.

Pros

A lot of training time goes into your job. Plus you have resources to advance if you are willing to take a few online courses. Perks are great! Room Discounts all over the world as low as $39 a nite in some places. Marriott hires based on personality which is great because you work (mostly) with friendly, fun yet competent people.

Cons

Long shifts. Unusual hours. But then again, thats the hospitality industry overall.
