Pros

Good RRSP matching program even though salary is low Excellent health care Cool projects and steep learning curve for which they give you time to learn Most managers do not micromanage They do empower new employees if they have good ideas. They never shy away from trying to improve the way they work.

Cons

People follow CYA attitude and care more about their own tasks. Its hard to work with other teams because every individual knows just about their work and have little idea about the big picture. You learn new information every time you talk to a new person. Its okay if you are new but not if you are working for years. HR is the most unprofessional. They failed to provide me tax documents which they are legally bound to give me. I emailed them multiple times and they don't even respond back. Salary is at least 15% below the market rate even if you are a high performer. Good place for new graduates but not a great place if you already have industry experience. They are actively trying to do diversity hires for few years. The intention is right but implementation is poor. They still have very low percentage of female workforce and this is after lot of people getting unfairly hired/promoted in the name of diversity.

Pros

The people doing the day to day (AVP and below) are amazing. The VP and above who are legacy E*TRADE actually care about the employees and clients.

Cons

Morgan Stanley is so unorganized. It takes weeks to get the simplest answers. If there is something that could be an issue but anyone below VP brings it up, no one cares. When it finally comes to fruition, the same employees who called out the possible problem are forced into fire drills to fix it and any other issues that came with it. Another nightmare of MS is the return to office. We're told it's to get back to working together and socializing, but everyone on my team is in other locations, so my drive to the office is to still work virtually. It makes zero sense. Employees were told not to expect much with bonuses or raises for 2024, but then Ted and two other men who interviewed for the CEO role got 20 million dollar bonuses for interviewing. At the same time they cut budget for any employee recognition events.
