      Pros

      - Brand: once you have it you pass the resume screening for ITWs at the junior level - Compensation: if the market is booming, you get a good one... - People you work with: you learn everyday / most of the portfolio managers are smart and like sharing knowledge - Culture: very good banter / not that much bureaucracy

      Cons

      - Job at risk: no matter your level is, no matter your performance is, no matter the long term outlook of the business, if your products / funds are struggling to find investors' appeal or are in the downside cycle regarding performance or fund raising in the short term, you are likely to get laid off... - Political decisions: during the 2008 crisis, the board gave signs to markets: fired a lot people / BUs seen as dead-ends in the coming months...despite the irrationality on the long term. Moreover, some top executives are involved in political moves to yield more power / advancement that may threaten your job.

      With the high turnover, job security is high. Sort of. Great people below management level. g.reat benefits average wage

      Cons

      There is little room for advancement and even less room for a salary increase. Start high and be satisfied with what you get.
