Within the NHS I believe that you receive a lot of respect for other NHS staff

Cons

Constantly working over-time. Very difficult to do 9-5 hours on the service desk

Pros

Good pension and salary. Good team building chances. Work in always interesting and there is a lot of variety to get involved in.

Cons

Need to work hard to progress. You also need to study qualifications and there are not always the support programmes in place to do so.

Fantastic work life balance as 37.5 hours per week. Good progression opportunities. Funded MSc at a top London University.

Cons

No bonuses as public sector. Sometimes managers from a non clinical background can be disadvantaged. Other benefits such as private healthcare are not offered .
