Pros

It's just worth doing. Very rewarding in that you see the results of your efforts, and it is not just putting money into directors pockets. Lots of responsibility and exposure, extremely interesting environment. Good pension!

Cons

Little career progression, no training, lack of respect and appreciation, low salaries, long hours

Pros

Reasonable salary, still has a good pension scheme despite recent increase in contributions and reduction in pension.

Cons

No incentives to deliver good service, minimal appraisal, but guaranteed wage- this encourages a rather lazy attitude to working. After all, most people will do the least amount of work that they can get away with!
