Pros

Day-to-day allowed to get on with job and given more freedom than many other jobs to control work.

Cons

Support systems do not work Culture of contempt for shop managers from head office and higher-ups Criticism asked for but then shut down Improvements either never happen or take so long to happen that things keep getting worse Lots of responsibility but barriers put up for shop managers to act to fix things
