Pros

Amazing organisational aims. Work to support a cause I value and believe in. Lots of amazing colleagues working hard to make a difference

Cons

HR is out of control and treating people very poorly. Senior Leadership very poor. Lots of talk of culture change but absolutely no action taken by SLT to do the work. Very very poor progression. Pay is low work load very high. Mental health is suffering. Lots of apathy and dissatisfaction in staff currently.

Pros

- The street fundraising team managers are nice and you can tell they are trying their best to be supportive. They try to keep the team positive and are super supportive where they can be. - This job will push you so far out of your comfort zone. I hated this job so much, but I will say I became a better communicator and more personable as a result

Cons

- Zero hour contract, no rights, no sick pay, close to minimum wage - Standing in the cold and rain all day, with the general public shouting profanities at you and treating you like pests. - People get fired on the spot if they don't hit targets. Not very 'charitable' of Oxfam

Bad experience

Pros

Working with Oxfam gives you access to good technical resources and high quality technical experts.

Cons

After almost a decade of committed service and positive appraisals, a switch in management happened and I was subsequently thrown under the bus and treated very unfairly. After complaining to management at Oxford level, I was told that they did not care to review my situation. It was heartbreaking.
