Pros

Most employees (most of my experience is at Head Office) are good people who have interesting life stories. So generally colleagues are a pro. Worklife balance excellent: working part time is not frowned upon. Plenty of opportunities to work in other parts of the organisation as it is so large and varied.

Cons

You won't make your fortune working here. You have to count every penny (as you should do in a charity) so it's not for someone who likes an expense account or company car.

Hello, thank you for your comments. It's great to hear that interesting colleagues, opportunities to work across the organisation and Oxfam's commitment to work-life balance (often through part-time, flexible or job share arrangements) are 'pros' for you. Recruitment Team at Oxfam GB, Oxford.

Pros

Friendly Staff, agreeable work hour. I was offered a discount on a bass guitar after working there for several months.

Cons

It's a voluntary job so you won't get paid. You will however get experience with customer relations, shop handling etc.

Hello, thank you for your comments. We're pleased to hear that friendly colleagues and good working hours were perks for you. (And a discounted bass guitar can't be a bad thing...!). Great also to hear that you feel you've gained experience in customer relations and shop handling - we hope those skills are continuing to come in handy. Recruitment Team at Oxfam GB, Oxford.

Pros

Oxfam is one of the best employer for diverse workforce, you get good opportunity to learn about different people from different back ground.

Cons

There is no follow up on the diverse workforce in order to make sure that each individuals are integrated with in the culture of Oxfam. just only recruiting diverse workforce does not mean diversity and inclusiveness is fulfilled.

Hello, thank you for your comments about working at Oxfam. We're pleased you're finding working with Oxfam an amazing experience. We're certainly committed to diversity (within our workforce and also valuing it in the work we do globally). We were recently shortlisted for the National Diversity Awards in the UK and were very proud as this highlighted how important we feel workplace diversity is. Your feedback about lack of follow up is interesting. We have a diversity 'champions' group within each team at Oxfam. I will feed back your comments about integrating diversity within Oxfam's culture. Thank you as well for your continued support of Oxfam. Recruitment Team at Oxfam GB.
