Hello, Thank you for your comments, we're glad that the flexibility and lunch reimbursement were nice perks. It's a shame that the stockroom was messy, I'm sure the team at the shop you worked at would welcome that feedback, you can give it anonymously via our website if you'd like and then the team can take it on board. http://www.oxfam.org.uk/what-we-do/about-us/contact-us/feedback-and-complaints Recruitment Team at Oxfam GB, Oxford.

A joy to work with

Pros

You get to meet a mixture of people, both when meeting customers and also fellow coworkers. It is also a great way to train skills for other jobs.

Cons

The pay is low or none if there on a voluntary basis and the organisation can be chaotic. There isn't much of a over-arching standard on how it functions at the more detailed level.

Hello, It's great that you've got to meet a mix of people and have built up transferable skills through your volunteering, we really appreciate the time our volunteers spend with Oxfam so thank you for your ongoing support. You're correct that there is no pay for volunteer positions; we do however have paid opportunities advertised on our website and many of our shop managers are former volunteers whose past volunteer experience has helped them to show how they would be able to manage a shop and volunteers. I hope your volunteering in Lancaster continues to be 'a joy'! Recruitment Team at Oxfam GB, Oxford.
