Great, smart, driven colleagues; excellent mission; fantastic location; good reputation; good opportunities for advancement; excellent CEO; part of a larger internationally recognized organization.

Cons

Employees are undervalued and without voice, very hierarchical, highly politicized environment that often stifles entrepreneurship, difficult management structure.

Pros

Volunteering for Oxfam gives you the opportunity to contribute to a good cause whilst gaining work experience and meeting new people. What hours you volunteer tend to be very flexible.

Cons

Some of the work can get a bit repetitive, which is okay if it's a task that you enjoy. There isn't much socialising outside of the shop.

Pros

good mission, good organisational culture and committment from most staff; the committment to ending poverty and suffering were what kept me there.

Cons

It tended to favour British employees, maybe not deliberately but the fact that it is primarily a British organisation meant that British staff got listened to and got job opportunities a head of everyone else.
