Pros

The staff comprises people from all over the world and most are super talented and so it makes for a great cohort of peers. I made some very good friends while I was there and I continue to remain in touch with them even after leaving Oxfam. It attracts people committed to working on social justice issues with a strong focus on rights. Oxfam America has a top-notch CEO in Abby Maxman, whom I deeply respect for her skills, experience and attitude.

Cons

Oxfam America is part of the OXFAM confederation with multiple affiliates around the world and this significantly increases the transaction costs of operating in tandem with other sister institutions that share a common purpose and are subject to other laws and regulations.
