Pros

they for now have the work.... other than that there really isn't anything good to say about this company unless you are in upper management.

Cons

they don't care about you.... period ! i took 3 extra days off after my turnaround because my son died. i went back to work and PCL docked my overtime because i didn't work the full 2 weeks. my son died and they still docked me ! i bought a house and submitted my paperwork for my sub. i was told i didn't qualify because i should've bought a house closer to the job site. the union tried contacting them but PCL just ignored them. i finally got my sub (and retro) after 4-5 months.... i work for them for over 2 years in Saskatchewan, after i take a call with them in fort mac.(for some reason i thought that it would be impossible that the insanity would be in alberta too) anyway, i didn't have my red seal.... they give me 1st year rate.... oh, and a set of drawings and 3 people to help me out.... i get journyman responsibility but kid's pay... (i have my redseal now) i forgot to pack my work jeans (i'm only in camp this time for 1 week) i ask if i could please wear a pair of coveralls so i can wash my jeans and fly home clean.... they said no ! i never have actually asked for anything except this.... anyway, that's how they treat you... you can work harder than 10... but you're only a # and a dollar sign to them... as far as the ratings go i rated evrything 1 star. money and benifits aren't PCL... it's our union agreement... the rest really are 1 star... i invite management to defend themselves on any of my points....

Pros

Day to Day Challenges to overcome. Committed to excellence. Attracts great people and talent to work alongside. Consistently exceeds as a leader in our market by completing very difficult projects.

Cons

Never-ending layers of management. Continual internal competition for cooperate ladder climbing (no end in sight). Work-life balance related to construction does not escape PCL.
