Pros

Well...... i guess you learn how not to treat people in a work environment........

Cons

Take everything you might think about a good employer, and do exactly the opposite....basically a sweatshop at all levels....talking about culture and values doesnt make them real......action does

Absolute waste of time. Hopeless management who treat people like third class citizens. The class divide is too much between the staff and the management. The top brass think they are blue blooded(literally). This is all about the Chennai team (am not aware of the culture at other locations, but i don't think it will be any different). They do Agile and that's all they care about. Endless hours of lying and pleasing the Rally tool, so that management can fool off its top brass to earn good bonuses and profits. PayPal Chennai is what everything that's wrong about modern India. Brash, uncultured, and utterly pointless. Wish I could rant more, but what's going to change? Nothing probably. I would give no rating if I could, but again forced by the idiocy of the web developer to award PayPal a generous one start from me. I don't want people slating me, it's not my fault if you have low standards. I have worked previously in quality companies where people with double Phd's walk with humility that would shame you to death. Probably everything that's said about PayPal applies to every other company here. That's the only saving grace for the disaster that is PayPal Chennai.

Pros

Great Benefits. Medical benefits are superior compared to other any other company I have worked with before. Great 401k match.

Cons

HR department is a complete joke. Any issues that you have are in no way shape or form confidential and will get reported back to your supervisor or the individual you are filing a complaint against. So be prepared to expect retaliation in the form of abuse, wage freezes, and any other way your supervisor can make your life miserable. If you are considering becoming pregnant or already are, be prepared to be treated horribly before, during, and after your maternity leave. Especially in the compliance department which is ran by a bunch on misogynists. The new attendance policy is a slap in the face. Especially considering the company strives to promote family values, this hurts individuals with family members the most. This company uses metrics to deny pay increases. Even when you are meeting and exceeding metrics it's still not enough. They will find ways to alter metrics to deny tip and increases. On average consider yourself lucky if you see metrics once every two months.
