Pros

- Great benefits/salary - Lots of mobility (within teams, departments) - Some really smart people on every team - Lots of flexibility - Tons of support for attending tech conferences - Offices all over the world

Cons

- A bit management heavy - Things are changing for the better, but not always as fast as you'd want

Pros

Easy onboarding, multinational and friendly work environment, learned a lot and made valuable connections. Targets were usually realistic and achievable. Enjoyed the international travel, too! back in 2006 it was fun, exciting with a start-up mentality. Still keep in touch with many friends I made there.

Cons

Large corporation politics, odd performance reviews and outdated technology. Some of the fun benefits and incentives disappeared over the years. Feedback and improvement suggestions remained unheard for the most part or took way too long to reach the right person/team or to get implemented.

Pros

PayPal is one of the more innovative and forward thinking companies, so as an employee you get to work on opportunities that has broad impact on a global economy. The company has stayed a leader in emerging and digital commerce opportunities with continued growth in its customer base - consumers & merchant partners. As you gain experience within the company, there are ample opportunities to explore other roles with management providing flexibility to rotate into different roles. As a brand, PayPal is well know globally and is among the top employers in the US.

Cons

The company has grown in size across the years, making it very hierarchical and making decision making challenging most times. There is also the culture of excessive meetings, power points as a way of communication that affects pace of execution. As you grow in the organization, needing to be politically savvy is important to continue to elevate. There is a the constant competing in priorities to support eBay inc and grow PayPal at the same time which is challenging for the leadership at PayPal. Hopefully with the spin off of PayPal as public company now, will allow it to operate independently to better prospects.
