      Pay and benefits are amazing, but you will stagnate here

      Pros

      The pay is very good (I’ve never seen someone outside of California pay more for this type of work), the 401K match is also amazing, and the hybrid schedule for engineers is a nice perk.

      Cons

      You will undoubtedly stagnate. Since the refinery is a one-off, there’s nowhere to transfer to. You’ll do the same job for years until you get sick of it or someone around you quits first. Direct management is easy going but upper management is directionless. The safety record speaks for itself (bad).
