Pros

Well-regarded company, strong brands, "can do" culture. Big budget give you plenty of resources. More data than you know what to do with.

Cons

Poor work-life balance, little opportunity for movement between Divisions, highly matrixed/functionalized. PepsiCo is also a "deck" culture. You'll spend tremendous amounts of time writing presentations that are only used internally. Also, the bottler franchisee model is exhausting and largely dysfunctional. Last, there are very few Senior Managers at PepsiCo that are inspirational. They're very good operators, but there's a real lack of strong mentors and coaching. International tends to be better than North America.

Pros

Everyone knows the company and that helps when trying to make sales. The career opportunities are there for young professionals. If you get hired through either a diversity program or as a college hire, take advantage of the opportunities, because you will have them.

Cons

The hours are long and the work never seems to stop, even when you're on vacation. I check voice mail and email every day because I know that my manager will be sending me information even on the weekends. If I decide to go without checking on a Sunday, for instance, I will hear about it on a Monday morning call. Morale is not very high because of the demands put on the employees and the fighting between departments gets old. There are too many scorecards for each department and they don't seem all roll into one - making it best for the company AND the customer.

Pros

I had a blast as an intern with PepsiCo PBSG. They had weekly intern activities to learn more about the different parts of the company. Unfortunately I was located in a satellite office about 20 minutes away from their main headquarters, so I did not get to enjoy the perks of that campus. As for the work, I was able to pick what projects I was interested in and wanted to work on, as well as other areas I wanted to explore. PepsiCo even provided training for some of these tasks which was very helpful. The experience has been a great asset in job interviews so far.

Cons

One of the main reasons for getting an internship is the potential for a job offer at the end of it. However, PepsiCo does not have many entry level positions within PBSG (PepsiCo IT) and therefore my manager was unable to offer me a position although she wanted to. She told me to wait until the start of the year, but that was too late as I had other job offers that would expire before then.
