      Not so great at Philips Hong Kong

      Pros

      Office is in a nice location when it's sunny If you are a HK local, this place may be better for you.

      Cons

      There is a high turn over, and recently many of the European colleagues have left the company. HR is very poor, and in most cases are very unhelpful. Team culture is quite low, especially if you do not speak Cantonese, it can take a very long time for people to work well with you. It is very hard to progress in your career once you are placed in a "grade" so make sure you feel you are going into a position that fits (with a bit of a stretch) for you to keep your job interesting and to grow.

      Pros

      Lots of good knowledgeable friendly people to work with. Good benefits and compensation. A good place to work to gain experience.

      Cons

      The decision makers are afraid of change and afraid of leading the pack when it comes to implementing new technology into products. Constantly playing catch up to competitors because of this. Also, upper management are only looking out for themselves and no one else.

      Pros

      If you are an office dweller, this a great company to work for. Great coworkers. Benefits are still good. Provide trainings for most positions.

      Cons

      Too many cubicle dwellers writing policies for positions they have no clue how they work or operate. Coming out with useless devices for service, ie. CN50. Scraps programs after they are working great and start using a program that has more issues than the previous one. Policies are pushed out even if they are proven to be bad. Philips is trying to punish people for working OT as if they want to work OT and be away from their families.
