There is a tremendous drive for innovation in Philips. Future thinking teams benefit from a strong, homogeneous and friendly company wide culture. Global mobility allows people to grow in roles and exposure.

Cons

While innovation remains at core, there are gaps between innovation potential and market reality. Company re invents itself rather frequently in response to market.

Pros

The compensation, benefits, and work-life balance aspects were good. It's a global company with many resources and experts. The people are dedicated and engaged. There was opportunity to grow within the department.

Cons

The company did not have a strong vision or strategy. With a single business unit, there were 2 relocations (meaning 3 different locations) over the course of only 6 years, and then the business was closed down completely. It's an indication of how the company focused on the wrong thing, i.e. cost-cutting efforts versus addressing the weakness in the core business. The company also did not have a strong process in place to identify additional opportunities outside of the immediate department for their top talent.
