      Pros

      PwC is helpful. It is a good place to start a career. Especially in the current economic state, there are plenty of opportunities. It's coaching program is definitely good. The chance to get involved as a team member makes it worthwhile.

      Cons

      Long hours and fixed base salaries.

      Pros

      Working at PwC is a great resume builder. Smaller firms love to see that you have had the bug 4 experience. Also, it is a great learning opportunity. PwC has the resources to invest in training. This is something that you will not find at a small fiem. Plus, the reimbursement/ payment for professional exams, dues, etc. is great. One thing that was great, depending on the team you were on, is that people understand that work may not be your first priority. Teams were generally willing to pitch in if someone needed to be out of the office for some reason.

      Cons

      While staff may be understanding of your outside committments, some managers were not. This is not an easy job if you are a parent, particularly a single parent. Unfortunately, there are people who are willing to commit their entire lives to work and work crazy long hours, so they kind of force others to do the same to keep up. In my mind, when a bunch of people do unreasonable things like work 70-80 hour weeks, it is mass hysteria. Just doing great work is not enough, people expect the "extracurriculars" - recruiting, training, networking. All after hours, of course.
