Pros

PwC is a good place to start your career in terms of defining your skill set, exposure to complex issues and indsutry knowledge as well as building your network within PwC as well as your client contacts. PwC also places alot of emphasis on training however as part of their cost cutting, alot of training is now local which takes away alot from the experience.

Cons

Salary and benefits are far behind that of industry. Retirement Plans / 401K matches are a joke. It is a very political atmosphere where contrary to what is said, more often than not you do not receive honest feedback because you have to deal with so many personalities people are only looking after themselves with no regard to others and often that leads to under rating on PFF's for no purpose. Coaching is a Joke, it is not a coaching enviroment, this is the coaching you will get "Look at what they did last year", "Ask me if you have any questions".. All in All it is a tenure over merit based firm, alot of Managers and Senior Managers are lazy and delegate. The firm is more concerned about fee's and perceptions than its own people

Pros

The best thing about PwC is how it looks on your CV. PwC also gives its employees the ability to move around and experience other parts of the firm, or even in other countries. It gives you the opportunity to work with various multi-national clients which means lots of travel opportunities. There are numerous training courses to help you with your career development.

Cons

It's a big company and you can feel a bit lost. There are various unwritten rules which you need to figure out yourself. There is a limited room for voicing your opinion.

Pros

Provides a good foundation for gaining accounting/auditing knowledge and experience. Lots of opportunities to work on many different areas and learn new things on a daily basis. Firm encourages giving back to the community and gives employees a certain amount of time every year to participate in community service. Also, most of the individuals within the firm are motivated, intelligent, professional, and courteous. Firm also promotes growth by providing many training classes to employees that address auditing topics. Good place to work for newly college graduates, but not sure how good it will make as a long term occupation as the hours can be pretty bad.

Cons

Inadequate compensation for the amount of hours put in, busy season may not always be only once a year. Depending on the client, who may be going through restatement or IPO, busy season can extend to off-peak months and more. Also, there's the inability to move to a new client once you've been at the same client for a period of time. Firm tend to keep at the same client for long periods of time, which may not be the best thing for personal growth. The annual performance review process is also an opaque process for the most of the time.
