The people in the Minneapolis office are great and truly care for each employees career! On the first day of employment they assign you a career adviser. This person is there to help advice you on how to quickly get a promotion in the company or to help you switch careers.

Cons

The technology at the company is not keeping up. I think a main reason for this is that the managers, directors and partners refuse to learn how to use new technology and don't see the value in it. A lot of projects are just done the same as last year and these means with the same technology they used last year as well. When I started there were even a couple partners who still had a few returns done by hand.

I loved working McGladrey and can say without hesitation that I would absolutely work there again. People are important and treated well. Lots of opportunity for growth and professional development for those who are self-motivated. Good mentoring and career guidance programs. Flex work programs are available.

Cons

There is always room for improvement. As with any accounting firm, there are still some old-fashioned leaders that feel total billable hours and face-time are more important than net margin. Older leaders also complain occasionally about the poor work ethics of millennials. Busy season hours are like any other accounting firm. Flex work programs are available, but office level management seems reluctant to allow.
