      Excellent mid-market accounting firm to work for.

      Pros

      Extremely good experience out of college. Work with other CPA's who are willing to train you from the very beginning. Good income potential if public accounting is meant for you.

      Cons

      When economy tanked, perks, bonuses and raises were taken away. More work was required out of busy season than was communicated before taking the job.

      Better than the big four, but still, no worklife balance.

      Pros

      You'll have the opportunity to work on more audit sections with this company than with the big four. This is because most of their clients are midsized companies. Also, the work load is about 20 hours less than at the big four.

      Cons

      You are expected to come in on Saturdays during the busy season. This means, a 50+ hour work week. There's a lot of politics within the company. Promotions and recognization is based on your networking skills within the firm, not your technical abilities.

      Pros

      Generally very solid employees who are very dedicated. Change to larger clients poses a problem. Work/Life Balance is stressed and attempted.

      Cons

      Everyone is in charge until it is time to make a decision - when decision time comes, no one is in charge. Meetings for everything.
