Pros

There are a great many opportunities for career growth. RB has global presence and are transferring employees internationally all the time (pro if you like traveling). Also, there is a great deal of focus on personal development of employees by providing training courses and what not.

Cons

Compared to competitors, RB probably ranks a little low in terms of compensation. Also, for promotion and career growth, there is a good chance that at some point you will be transferred internationally to another country.

Pros

Talented team Celebrate overall company success with great conference but lack on the personal level

Cons

Losing too many experienced and talented people due to internal pressure You only get promoted if you in the 'in' crowd No matter how many years of service you have it doesn't matter, its not what you know its who you know Change in management team means you have to prove yourself all over again Happy to pay external candidates more than internal

The company stuck in the past

Pros

- Fast moving, though getting slower due to procedures and processes constantly added - Some talented people around - Openness to international careers - In theory lucrative annual and long-term bonuses, which offset quite low base salaries

Cons

- People management and people development are absolutely foreign concepts to this company. Senior managers are not equipped for that - No clear career paths and guidance. You're getting promoted or your next assignment if this and that guy knows you personally, rather than based on your results and skills - Much touted Leadership charter remains mostly on paper, as senior managers keep behaving as they used to behave before - in many cases as mini-kings in their fiefdoms - RB comes up with lots of new projects, but is not ready to either invest or hire resources to succeed with them - so it ends up in the hands of current employees and squeezed into current budgets. So these projects die of natural causes after a while - Business decisions are driven by top managers' opinions and perceptions, rather than by data and rationale - Lots of internally-focused zero added value work - Bonuses seem lucrative on paper, but in reality they are modest due to the mediocre company performance
