      Work in an environment where you walk on eggshells every day; hoping you don't p*ss off the boss

      Pros

      Honestly, can't think of anything. There is a subsidized cafeteria on site in their head office. The portions are small and they serve these overpriced meals repeatedly week after week. Free coffee/tea.

      Cons

      Ritchie Bros. management is highly skilled in creating disgruntled employees. Employee turnover is extremely high. Company hires staff on contract to avoid compensating employees fairly. This company is primarily successful due to lack of market competition; however, times are changing. Working here was an absolute low point in my career. A HUGE REGRET.

      Pros

      - Cafeteria; Child Care Centre; Gym facilities on-site - Great perks if you are in Sales - Sales is KING here! - Great perks if you are an executive.

      Cons

      This company's philosophy is to pay at P50 - mid-point level of the market as they believe that the other benefits make up for not being paid more. However, having been here for more than 10 years, training and education budgets (and a number of other benefits) are being slowly cut (without corresponding INCREASES in the base salary). I think employees are getting short-changed day-by-day.

      Pros

      Many of the employee's in the day to day operations are some of the best and hard working people you will ever meet. All are overworked and under paid.

      Cons

      Ritchie has one of the poorest management groups in place now that it has ever had, all left over from the former CEO.
