Pros

The people and experiences of the company are great. Auction day is like a sporting event with a lot of excitement. Good opportunities to travel and make overtime pay.

Cons

Work life balance can be challenging. Expect to work at minimum 2 weeks straight prior to sale day with potential of long hours depending on size of sale. The company is all about sales and operations team can be left out in cold on customer issues.

Pros

I got to do a good deal of traveling, which could also be considered a con... There are some good people that work for this company, unfortunately, more and more of those people are leaving to work for a company with real opportunity.

Cons

I am a dedicated work addict by nature. I poured my heart and soul into this company. It was like pulling teeth to even get hired full time. After that, no raise, cut back on the benefits, and no opportunity for promotion (mind you this was during a period were stocks were at an all time high). I was personally passed up for a couple promotions by people who's Dad's were either an employee of a large customer or a friend of upper management. I don't mind loosing to someone more qualified, but these guys were fresh out of college with no work experience and I had been slaving for the company for 3 years. The excuse that was given to me by a manager that has since been promoted, was that he knew it was not fair to me, but when somebody gets good at a job, he likes to keep them there so he won't have to worry... Why do a good job then? That's just one example of the favortism and political incorrectness that is allowed in the company. One important point, IF YOU ARE A WOMAN YOU WILL NEVER GET ANYWHERE WITH THIS COMPANY. The upper management has no respect, you will be stuck in a dead in office job with no opportunity to advance... Now that I've said all this, the exception is sales. I've since left the company and worked for two other public companies in different aspects of this industry. I can tell you they have the laziest sales team I have ever dealt with. Not only do they get away with it, they are worshiped with rewards, trips, incentives... So if you get hired in sales, it's probably a good gig... Operations, stay away...
