Pros

I can’t think of any.

Cons

Terrible management driven purely by politics. The ones that are good at with the sweets talks (but not actions) are often promoted. Lots of hire and fire. People are often let go for no legitimate reason.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m very sorry that your experience with Rivian wasn’t all you’d hoped for. As part of my role here as Chief People Officer, I’m committed to helping Rivian be an environment where impact is what’s rewarded; actually walking the walk vs. only talking the talk. For the few months I’ve been here I’ve been very encouraged by how universal this view is across the leadership team. Though I can see you are a former employee, please reach out to anyone on the People team so that we may be able to learn more. Thank you, Helen.

Pros

Fast paced in the beginning

Cons

A night time security guard at Waterworks threatened me at knifepoint completely unprovoked. I reported the incident to management and they fired me shortly after. As a result, I have hired the biggest employment law firm in LA. This company fires you if you report any kind of workplace incident like discrimination or sexual harassment. Check out other reviews on glassdoor and indeed. There is definitely a boys club mentality at this company that expects you to keep your mouth shut, or you're gone.

Pros

If you want to work hard and like freedom and you are a self starter, work with smart people and cutting edge tech, generally a good place to be.

Cons

Group by group, you could have a great team and manager or work in a toxic env. The company has just been stumbling over and over at the executive and management levels and burning a lot of cash. - I am a very high performer and built and led a high performing team in an innovative group, but HR is ruthless regarding issues - It’s gonna be a long ramp to profitability, don’t expect that stock price to move much anytime soon - Leadership coaching is sub par and zero tolerance for issues - Disorganized executive management working with less and less - Layoffs coming, inevitable, my own opinion - Lots of shifts in focus and hiring, had to get reapprovals 4 times in a year for open roles and ultimately hiring is now mostly frozen - The company just doesn’t have the resources to recover from the push for prod launch and now with the difficult financial env, not looking good - I was there almost 2 years, it’s just a grind now with a tightening of the belt - Incredibly disorganized production assembly line, constant reorganizations - Tons of leadership reorganizations across the company - I resigned after wrestling with HR and feeling demoralized by the lack of support
