Pros

The job is incredibly easy. You need to do some highly illegal stuff to get fired from SAP. I worked maybe 10 hours a week here.

Cons

The CEO is the son of a German politican who happens to be best friends with Hasso. Hasso makes all the decisions around here. Most of them are poor. Below market pay, below market raises... and you guessed it! Poor career trajectory. Attrition is very high in North America but the board chooses to focus on Germany, where employees have unionized and have rights. The executive board is a clown show. The CEO and both CTOs are completely unfit for their current roles. Its a German boys club at the top. Diversity and Inclusion is also a joke here. Once you get to a certain point, you must be a white German male or female to be a leader.

Pros

SAP is a wonderful organization to work for because it works with Fortune 500 clients whereby we are always ahead technology and best practices. Companies like Nike, Porsche, Mercedes. Apple are a few of our clients and other partners. Aside from the benefits, discounted purchase options and remarkable engagement groups, the talent is amazing and you will work with many competent people. We have yoga and meditation classes, mindfulness workshops. Many invited guests from technology industries to provides you with information. Leadership women work shops, global coaching, mentoring programs and flexible work environment. It is truly a top notch company that will give back to their employees. No company is perfect but this is prefect for me

Cons

Cons: You are responsible for your career progression, so make it work.

Pros

- SAP's technology proposition and strategy on the whole, is compelling and is heading in the right direction. As an overall business SAP is positioned well for future growth, providing it can fend off some of the smaller, more nimble and arguably more innovation competitors that exist in the market. - Salary & benefits are competitive.

Cons

- TOXIC CULTURE: Account Executives at SAP are treated very poorly, absolutely zero respect for individuals. Lots of fear-mongering and politics destroys moral which in turn hampers sales execution. Comradery at all levels is pretty much zilch. There is also a tremendous amount of in-fighting between local and global sales teams as people desperately clamber for revenue (when in most case they've added zero value). I've worked at big global companies and sales-politics will always exist, but this is the next level above and some! - Micro management: SAP is simply obsessed with the term "Cadence". Sales "leaders"/task-masters spend way too much time grilling AE's on every last piece of detail which again, actually slows down sales execution. This focus originates from a BIG lack of trust in sales; think extreme paranoia multiplied by a ten thousand. Every week AE's have to fill out an excel to say where they've been, who've they've met etc.... treating seasoned sales guys like first year inside sales graduates does not wash. - Chaotic middle-management: huge void in leadership skills across the board. - Hugh attrition: in little over a year nearly my whole team has left, with the bulk of people leaving on their own accord, simply to escape the toxic culture. I was sat in a sales meeting once where a member of SAP's senior leadership team laughed when discussing that the average self-life of a middle-manager is 6 months! I'm surprised/borderline amazed by some of the glowing reviews on Glassdoor on SAP UK.
