Pros

Work life balance... or did I say life life balance... coz there is mostly no work... That is why this place is a magnet for lazy bums who want to live the rest of their lives doing nothing under the shelter of like minded ppl... Great exposure to global business software and one can do wonders in this company if he is innovative... but wait, local management will kill you and your idea... coz innovation sounds like "work" isn't it, and bangalore management do not like working ppl..

Cons

Mediocre culture of SAP labs bangalore... They believe in recruiting mediocrity and retaining mediocrity... that is why it has slipped to paymaster 70 percentile now... and over the years I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes 50 percentile... There is no differentiation for hard work and talent... all get same hike and promotion is always slated in 2.5 years or 3 years... does not matter who deserve or who doesn't... So teams are like family business... all managers are friends and they have their wives also in the same team.... which makes office look like kitty party mostly... they decide among themselves the future of team and individuals....

Pros

- people are amazing and helpful, share knowledge freely and are and supportive - work changes every year, new priorities, new projects - most managers support “side quests” as long as they relate to your FT job, e.g., learning a new skill, participating in a short term project in an area of interest - opportunity to work with people from all over the world - if you’re in the first 10 years of your career there is tremendous opportunity to move into different types of roles - when layoffs happen (inevitable in tech) they’re very supportive to affected people and include transition assistance

Cons

- re-orgs every year - if you love your role it could change even if you don’t want it to - if you’re over 50 and a senior expert (i.e., high salary), you will feel like you’ve got a target on your back every time there’s a re-org.

Pros

You'll get your salary on time

Cons

No work life balance. The "Pledge to Flex" campaign is a cynical way to force people back to the offices. The name is misleading – it's not SAP that will have to flex, it's you. It's almost cliche at this point and there are TikToks making fun of companies like SAP. In 2020 it was home office full steam ahead. This year, together with New Year wishes, every employee learned they will have to go physically to the office, no matter if they're remote workers, if there are any other team members in their location. In a very long FAQ basically every option was answered with "We're sorry this sucks for you. Anyway, 3 days in the office or else", but of course in a politically correct way. Another proof of SAP's anti-flexibility is when I asked if I could move my position to my home country where I would work remotely. The answer was no, because it doesn't bring benefit to SAP and it's too much bother (really, one of the reasons for rejection was that it requires too much effort with paperwork and taxes. Way to appreciate a hardworking employee of 6+ years! ;)) SAP wants you to think you're one big family, but don't be fooled. SAP is not your friend and will do anything as long as it benefits the company and doesn't break the law (I mean, hopefully).
