Pros

You really touch the HW environment and go deep into the details of the technology. Multinational organization. Open to multiple cultures. Flexibility in the working time.

Cons

No opportunities for carrier evolution. The remuneration isn't inline with similar companies/jobs. No imagination in the management strategy: very static.

Pros

Pay not too bad. People within the project group are nice in general. Don't need to work like a slave like in some other company.

Cons

Management internal politics. Managers lack managerial skills, not to mention technical skills. Inefficient and ineffective cooperation between project groups (vendor and customer relationship) as there was no mutual trust. Good lead engineers left because of unsupportive work environment. In the end, project got canned and organization got reshuffled, managers replaced. In one instance, a manager from France who took over group was a total idiot, dismissed a good engineer, and eventually led the collapse of the whole group. Of course, after the damage is done, she returned home.

the average salary is quite low, and the increasing rate is quite small. you might have been there for 6 years but the salary you get might be only similar to the one working in another company for 3 years.
