Pros

Highly talented team Pension contributions matching is decent Five personal development days a year Salaries are average

Cons

Progressions have been non-existant for a while, the small number of people that get them get a title change and a very small pay rise which means you actually lose money as you lose the extra bonus top-up for exceeding your current role. Current policy seems to be you need to officially exceed your role for three years before being able to be promoted. Office looks nice from the outside however it is incredibly not fit for anything other than photo ops. Toilets keep overflowing Water pressure keeps having issues Coffee machines have a lower reliability than McDonald's ice cream machines Not enough parking Not enough places to sit as a team Takes twenty minutes to get served for lunch Lifts break often New mandate that all your Teams calls should be taken in the office. Reason given is to "increase collaboration" however not sure how that can be true when your team will not all be based in the same office. Current rumours as it's way to downside and unfortunately that makes more sense than teams calls in the office increasing collbaration. Product feature requests that come from above rather than customer feedback are not well thought out. We keep spending months of features customers do not use because it sounds good to some exec somewhere.

We appreciate your feedback and have read through your comments. Please note that our hybrid working approach is an important element of the way we work at Sage that is complemented by other benefits such as paid time to volunteer, the ability to work away for up to 10 weeks a year and free well-being support tools. We recently also answered several colleagues' questions about the new 3-day policy. In doing so, we've shed more light on how colleagues will be supported as they adhere to our updated hybrid structure. More information about what we offer can be found here https://www.glassdoor.co.uk/Benefits/Sage-United-Kingdom-Benefits-EI_IE1150.0,4_IL.5,19_IN2.htm - Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We’ll continue to work hard to improve how we enable colleagues to thrive.

Pros

People working here are nice.

Cons

Work from home policy has changed to 3 days minimum. This is a total waste of our time travelling only to be in teams call as we work with different countries. Lack of parking space if you go to the office

Pros

Standard. Nothing extraordinary that you couldn't get at a similar company. It's better than some I guess.

Cons

Just laid off hundreds of people after hiring someone new at the top. Let's go to the cloud he said. That is where the money is, but let's lay off over half of our software engineers who work in the cloud so that we can hire more engineers over seas for cheaper. When I started at this company, the reviews were in the 3s on here. That's where they deserve to be with this shady nonsense! This was not the first time Sage has done this. I do not think it is the last!

Thanks for your review. As you say, we have recently made some decisions about the roles and skills that Sage will need as we move forward. The needs of all our stakeholders require us to continue shifting our investments towards those foundational areas to Sage’s long-term success. We understand how difficult these changes are for our colleagues, especially those impacted. These decisions have not been taken lightly. Affected colleagues will be offered outplacement support and the chance to apply for other roles within Sage. As a sage colleague, please use available confidential listening surveys to highlight your concerns; this will better understand how we can support you and other colleagues.
