Pros

The people are the only good thing about Sage

Cons

The false promises, lies from management. Forcing people into the office with zero consultation has been very damaging for the mental health for 100s, if not 1000’s of employees. There is absolutely no justification for this but just to get bums on seats of their new premises. It doesn’t make any sense when people have been working from home for years, with no negative impact on work output. In fact, productivity is up! But the message is clear from the top “you know where the door is, see ya!” So much for the Sage values of “trust”, “do the right thing” etc etc - just corporate garbage.

Pros

Some lovely people on the ground Unnecessarily nice offices Reasonably modern tech suite

Cons

Repeated waves of redundancies which expect those to survive to pick up the work of multiple fired colleagues with no compensation Meagre salaries and pay increases Insane office work policies forcing colleagues with 3+ hour commutes into the office 3 days per week to spend their entire day on Teams Callous leadership who wave their lack of respect for their employees as a badge of pride

Pros

You can learn all sorts of office jargon like "#OfficeMagic" and also how to use Orwellian language and keep a straight face. If you're a manager then you get to spend time on Glassdoor writing 5 star reviews of the company, so you obviously haven't got enough to do all day.

Cons

Newcastle offices aren't fit for purpose and are bad enough now, but when they force us back in 3 days a week it'll be intolerable. All we can hope is that enough people quit or the management see sense before next year when no doubt it'll be 4 days a week, then finally 5 days a week the next year.
