Pros

-Great vacation -Benefits/Healthcare Plan -Good people (Exception: upper management) -Good location/commute -Nice facilities (Including: gym/shower for working out) -Pay isn't great, but it's fair/reasonable

Cons

-Too many chiefs, not enough indians (very top heavy) -Corrupt, deceitful, and lazy upper management (e.g. 3 day work weeks/average 6 hour workdays; pass blame for their faults but take credit for the work of others) -Lack of respect and professionalism towards subordinates by upper management (director level and up) -Patronizing perks (childlike decorating and ice cream parties instead of just treating people with decency) -Incompetence of upper management (but they're able to talk a good game in meetings and when questioned by their management, so the fraud continues) -Real performers/contributors are leaving or want to

Pros

Its a listed company and global brand. The building is quite nice but the open office can be noisy and distracting when trying to concentrate on programming. Theres free parking buts is a long way from everything.

Cons

Progression opertunities are very limited. They dont pay very well and take advantage of their position in the north east where competition with other employers is favourable. They have behaved badly in recent years by not giving anual cost of living pay rises to people who were over the limit of a new banding pay scale they brought in. Treating people fairly didn't enter into it. Dont come here expecting to earn top money, you never will. Investment in traing and personel development within the technical teams is pityful. I've seen larger training budgets at much smaller companies. Sage ran a Denison survey to gage staff moral, after getting poor results for 2 years in a row it decided it would just run its own so they could 'ask the right questions', obviously the results are better now.

Pros

Sage has been an outstanding place to work, and for most of my 7 years here, I’ve felt aligned with the values and supported by strong, emotionally intelligent leadership. However, in recent months, organizational changes in my department have introduced favoritism and a lack of psychological safety, which is a departure from the inclusive, balanced culture I originally joined. I hope future leadership decisions continue to prioritize emotional intelligence, fairness, and neurodiversity.

Cons

Favoritism and Bias: Since the arrival of new management, there's been a noticeable increase in favoritism and a lack of objectivity in decision-making, which can lead to a demoralized and divided team. Lack of Emotional Intelligence (EI): Leadership appears to lack empathy, self-awareness, and interpersonal sensitivity — all key traits of emotional intelligence. This affects communication, team morale, and trust.
