Pros

Decent benefits, work-life balance, great co-workers, paid time off for volunteering, global leader in their industry

Cons

Annual layoffs around the end of each FY, they value the cost of the employee more than the value/skill/experience (that drives hiring decisions too), year over year they work to reduce the # of people in North America despite more than half of the revenue being generated in North America. Steve Hare did an amazing turnaround with the company and culture when he took over the CEO role. However, I think he has been losing his way in, in recent years. I have wondered how much the CPO has influenced that and the changes that have been made since then.

Pros

Great colleagues and good compensation

Cons

Sage Intacct market's itself as an innovator, though the reality is far from it. It is unprepared for the market it is trying to penetrate and the numbers don't lie. Don't think any rep made it even close to achieving quota. Internal processes are redundant and disjointed. Left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Support has an iron grip over how sales does their job and it directly affects the ability to sell and negatively affects customer relationships. Management......(I use the term loosely). Management is largely unwilling, or unable to affect any kind of meaningful change. They are extremely demanding of results without providing the necessary tools to do so. They ask for feedback from frontline teams, but seldom act on it. Dissent or critique is met with harsh response. There is a reason most of the sales team has left the organization. There is a reason territory leadership is a revolving door. I would highly advise an prospective candidate to ask hard questions during the interview process re: previous year's quota attainment among reps, tenure of leadership, and relationship between sales and support organizations. Until the answers to these questions generate more confidence in the organization, steer clear. There are better places to apply your talents. There are better places that will value your contributions and a person.

Pros

People are mint, direct reports are supportive Good opportunities

Cons

Although I understand not everyone is in the same boat due to childcare/financial reasons etc, I like the three office days, and I choose to do that. However, my concern comes into play BECAUSE people are now being forced in 3 days a week. The Newcastle office space is not fit for purpose going into this new policy. Parking spaces are already limited, as are desk spaces, coffee machines maybe work for 1 whole week of the year so when they don't, the queues for Starbucks are MEGA (not all employees have spare time to wait in these queues) . The food is around 1 star on a good day, being served food that is cold in the middle and is a potential food poisoning risk doesn't give people much hope for eating in the office, which is good cause there isn't enough room anyways....but then again we have a HUGE choice of external catering...Greggs and Tescos and....or if I bring my own food in I can cram it into 1 of the 2 tiny fridges the whole office has to share. We did used to have multiple canteens that served different food each day in the old office...we get the same thing and one choice of canteen every day, paninis, toasties, salad, chips, jacket potatoes, sandwiches (lots of carbs and bread you may notice) and here comes the exciting bit....2 choices of a hot dish...but don't go after 1pm cause they won't have any left ;) And then there's leaving the office, I leave around 4/4:30....it takes me over an hour to get home due to the traffic within Silverlink...that's without all these extra employees now coming in, and the public transport links are diabolical and let's be honest far too unreliable.
