Pros

It's hard and it will ask the best of you, and push you. You will learn a lot here. The share-save scheme is good. Healthcare is good also - not massive but allows you to claim some back for sports massage, dental etc. Charity volunteering days are good.

Cons

Never-ending deathmarch of unachievable deadlines, to satisfy higher-ups, management, and ultimately the greed of the shareholders. As far as the software goes, the SDLC is not the best. The customer is never consulted on a new a feature before its built to see if its worthwhile building, and never consulted afterwards to see how it can be improved. The focus is simply on "building the next new thing". A lot of good people have left.

Pros

My extended team are a really talented, diligent and success driven bunch. In our smaller bubble we have a strong value system. They are a pleasure to work with. If it wasn't for the culture created by this team, I would have moved on. Sage has put a lot of effort into our social media presence and also on a One Sage communication, which keeps getting stronger. I love the idea of a focus on making easier to use products via the XD pillar.

Cons

Change is a constant at Sage . Unfortunately, the changes that have been made have not had a positive result to the happiness of its employees, nor our bottom line. Bad decisions have resulted in a lot of loss of great people. And with those people huge historical and important knowledge have left the organization. It’s a common belief that these changes are not completely thought through to ensure continuity of the business or processes. And we are losing great, skilled, talented employees at a rate of knots. This doesn't play well with supporting each other across products, departments and countries to make a better overall Sage offering to the market.

It’s like a buffet of toxic endless drama.

Pros

It paid better than unemployment but that’s about it. I would have rather had my wisdom teeth extracted without anesthesia.

Cons

Walking into the restroom on numerous occasions to listen to co workers crying. Seriously. Training was abysmal and the trainers talk poorly about management and their jobs. Nothing more uncomfortable than a training where the trainers talk smack about management, employees and the culture. Breaks are always people hoping to get out and find another job... any job where they can be treated with the respect and dignity of a human being. A micromanaged viper pit of ill informed leadership where sucking up will get you a promotion.
