Pros

Good place to start your career Benefits program very good Training programs like six sigma, supervisory, managerial pretty good Challenging work if that is what you are looking for If you are lucky, you may end up working with some very knowledgeable folks

Cons

They expect you to start working on complex projects and deliver results without even providing any basic training or orientation. Recognition for any extra mile(s) you go is never recognized Too much politics Some folks who have been with the company for a very long time become work place bullies

Pros

Worldwide scope of an organization with great technical products and processes that can challenge technical people as well as good benefits overall.

Cons

Overall management handling of local employees is poor; continual changing of General Managers who always have to "make their mark" in order to move themselves up don't have a clue typically about the business unit creates a political atmosphere where most middle managers have to try to fit into the new manager's thinking to survive. The French obsession with head count, rather than investment dollars, creates a more haphazard work atmosphere as well.

Pros

Great learning experience Work amongst best engineers Innovative environment High heath and Safety Standards Travel opportunities Exposure to Corporate Culture Job Security

Cons

MS and BS engineers treated like technicians instead of engineers. Non PhD engineers not welcomed at meetings, presentations etc. The career growth is also very different for both. Too much Red Tape and bureaucracy, as could be expected in a big company
