Pros

Stable company. One of the largest Employers in area. Once your a Pelco employee you can count on having a job. You can be the worse employee and not get fired from Pelco as long as you show up for work.

Cons

This isnt as bad as problem in past since Pelco was bought out by Schneider Electric. But to get a promotion or climb company ladder it was more of who you know or what you did for higher ups instead of hard work and dedication. Bad, lazy, incompetent Employees who shouldnt be at Pelco aren't dealt with.

Pros

Square D historically has the very best best brand recognition in the industry. some product lines are still good quality. The people are great people and try to be as helpful as possible, both internally and externally.

Cons

Company is forgetting the level of service that got Square D to be recognized as the industry leader. Arrogance from management that customers will simple accept reduced service levels AND continue to pay a premium for the product. Too much of a blind eye toward poor middle managers. Resource constraints make it hard for front line employees to provide good service to customers. This creates a lot of stress because you know what needs to be done and you still can not get it done.

Pros

Global Company with good opportunities for travel, advancement, and benefits. I am relatively new an have not experienced all the benefits yet. I am hoping that the benefits are coming quickly and are not just a recruiting tool. The company is concerned with the environment and community service activities. Marco Polo Program gives employees a chance to see the world for a period or time working in another country.

Cons

Very concerned with mobility. Personally, I do not mind to move to other locations in the beginning of my career, but am concerned that settling down will stop advancement opportunites. Work long hours without overtime compensation. Only two weeks of paid vacation.
