Pros

Scotia Capital is very flexible with time off and provides a good work / life balance. They are not extremely strict about tardiness as long as the work is completed on time and delivered.

Cons

There is absolutely no chance for growth in some of the departments. TAG in particular has seen budget cuts and eliminated projects across the board. Its not a good time (2011-2012) to be working for this place because Capital Markets is suffering. The management is completely clueless about what needs to be done from a technological perspective to improve the efficiency of the business and the place runs like it was still 1989 with ancient systems that needed to be removed in the 90s itself. In addition, the pay is extremely low in comparison to what is offered by TD, BMO or RBC right across the streets.
