Pros

Great support for employees in terms of benefits and the ability to progress (given you have the education) Scotiabank pushes you to work hard in a positive way and they look out for those employees that do the extra and push them forward in the company.

Cons

Can be difficult to balance a workplace and private life the further you move up in the company. Can be difficult to progress in the company now if you don't have the education, and personal skills whereas previously the longer you worked the further you would progress in the company.

Pros

Looks very good on a resume. Many resources available to assist with job performance.

Cons

There is a lot of blatant nepotism when it comes to advancement. Often times who you know counts for more than what you know and what you do. A lot of good talent is overlooked. A significant portion of the posted jobs are already filled prior to the commencement of the interview process. Very disheartening.
